Despite falling narrowly short of a league victory the Men's 1sts can be proud of what they have accomplished this season.
Their points tally of 2.375 per game set a new record - reflected in their 12W 2D 2L league tally. This meant that they finished 2nd in Junior Division 1, a new record high finish, having never previously challenged for promotion at that level.
During their title tilt, and brief cup runs, the team went 10 consecutive games unbeaten and denied their opponents from scoring in 10 matches. Whilst teammate Ebenezer Amissah pipped him by one goal for the club's Golden Boot, Ryan O'Neill did surpass all previous Wanderers players, netting his 80th goal for the club in a 4-1 win over Tolworth United, where Ryan banged in a hat-trick.
As for the 2nds, Club Secretary Mark Wilson racked up his 245th appearance in an unexpected friendly appearance against Effra Academicals. Just like O'Neill against Tolworth, this was particularly memorable for Wilson as he managed to pick up a grade 2 tear to his hamstring...
The 2nds also secured a positive league record with 9W 1D 8L and 3 clean sheets.
The 1sts will look forward to testing themselves at Intermediate level and we anticipate launching a Men's 3rds for the coming season too.
